ITS THE REMIX BABY!!!!

My remix video is showing the difference between classical music and hip-hop music along with showing the difference with classical dance and hip-hop dance. I used Camatasia to get the videos from youtube and from there I edited that way I like to show the difference in these two classical and street styles. I used music and dance because one i felt that these two complimented each other. You cant have one without the other. Also these ar two unique styles that make up who  I am as a person. I love the classical style of music and I love the street swagga of hip-hop music along with training in the classical form of dance while maintaining my hip-hop dance background.  You will be able to see all that in my remix video that you can see right here...ITS THE REMIX BABY!!!!

Framing

Without noticing it we are invisibly framing the world. Digital bob gave an example of the irritated driver, who gets easily flustered by the people driving around him all nuts. After reading this I started thinking of many ways I have framed the world without even noticing I do it. Since reading about framing I've been trying to be more cautious of framing alot of things but the more im cautious about it the more I do it. Then i remember the person doing something to take care of their frustration towards their driving expirence and  I found my own way to relieve my frustration/ framing and that was to sing Janet Jackson songs to myself and that seem to help out alot. Music Tend to be my release for a lot of things.
My framing connection with others who dont speak the same language as me tends to build pretty quicky. I tend to wish that i can understand, because im always so intreged by others culture and different languages. I tend to put chinese people in a frame the most because their lanuage is the most unfamiliar to my ears, but at the same time so im so interested in it. Wade Davis refers to this unfortunate tradition in the Ancient Wisdom video when he notes the importance of ending the habit of seeing other cultures as "failed attempts to be like us."

Getting to know your neighbors

The Montagnard Dega Association  is a non-profit organization formed in 1987 to assist Montagnard refugees resettle in the United States. The term Montagnard means "mountain people" in French and is a carryover from the French colonial period in Vietnam. Many of the first group of Montagnard refugees in the United States adopted the term Dega as their name instead of Montagnard because of the latter’s colonial associations. Dega comes from the Rhade language and refers to a creation myth in which the first two Montagnards were named De and Ga. As the indigenous peoples of the Central Highlands, the Montagnards are completely different in their culture and language from the mainstream Vietnamese.
On last Tuesday April 5th, 2011, My degital media class had a skype conversation with two Montagnard Dega people. Kayinn and Kwol and they were answering questions that my class asked them, and that was a great learning expierence. What better way to find out about someones history then asking them questions personally.

My question to the Montagnard Dega people where why did they settle in North Carolina out of all places?
answer: Most of us settled in North Carolina and by 2000 our population reached about 3,000. In 2002, the largest single group resettlement, 900, arrived in NC. Once again, these were mostly men without their families. Since then, Montagnards continue to be resettled as family members make their way here, families are reunited, and new refugees flee persecution by the Vietnamese government.
Today, the Montagnard Dega population in the North Carolina is about 10,000. Most live in Raleigh, Greensboro, and Charlotte. Greensboro and the surrounding area, located between the two other cities, is a natural meeting place with the largest concentration of families and individuals.

I think it will be interesting to see what they day in a life for the Montagnards would be like. Their hobbies their daily spiritual routines daily diet and things of that nature. excited to see where this journey leads me.

Artistically me =]

My name is Nehemiah Chauntai. I am what you would call a dancer. Along with being a dancer I have a strong eye for fashion. I Like to think that I'm from a world that most people would call a dream, and I'm just passing through earth. I landed in Cleveland Ohio on March 30, 1991 to the parents of Callie and Fred. I am the middle child out of all boys. That makes six boys.  I am currently away at college at UNCSA where I study dance. I love having fun and laughing, and I love nature.  I consider my style of life to be very hippie afro-centric. [LOL] Being so big on nature I  feel the biggest problem right now is the destroy of mother nature.  People take the beauty of nature for granted I feel that could play their part a lot more with recycling and be more conscience of the resources that come from nature, limit their use of it so much so we can reduce the destroy of mother nature. =]. "what is the role of the new digital media play in you life"? Digital media plays a huge role in my life everything is kind of done through the digital world. Its kind of hard to escape it. So heres a brief summary of me hope you enjoyed the ride and im looking forward to the many rides we will have together
